Legendární francouzský fotbalista Thierry Henry vyrazil do boje proti internetového šikaně a rasové nesnášenlivosti. Během uplynulého víkendu fanouškům oznámil, že dočasně opouští sociální sítě. Někdejší ofenzivní specialista londýnského Arsenalu nebo katalánské Barcelony byl hostem pondělního dílu oblíbeného televizního pořadu Good Morning Britain, kde ještě jednou zopakoval, proč poměrně radikální rozhodnutí učinil.

„Zdravím všechny. Od zítřejšího rána opouštím všechny sociální sítě, alespoň dokud jejich provozovatelé nezačnou regulovat chování jednotlivých uživatelů se stejnou energií a dravostí, jakou v současné době věnují porušování autorského práva. Objem rasismu, šikany a duševního mučení vůči jednotlivcům je příliš toxický, než aby byl ignorován,“ zveřejnil legendární francouzský fotbalista prostřednictvím dnes již neexistujícího twitterového profilu.

Bývalý kanonýr Monaca, Arsenalu, Barcelony nebo New Yorku byl hostem pondělního dílu oblíbeného televizního pořadu Good Morning Britain, kde mimo jiné vysvětlil, proč sociální sítě považuje za rizikové. „V tuto chvíli to není bezpečné místo. Mluvím o šikaně, obtěžování a duševních problémech, kvůli kterým lidé páchají sebevraždy. Je těžké vymýtit všechno, ale proč neučinit virtuální prostředí bezpečnějším? Sociální sítě jsou skvělým nástrojem, který někteří lidé používají jako zbraň,“ uvedl sedmačtyřicetiletý sportovec.
